I am a complete sucker for beautiful art and design. I’m drawn to it like a golden retriever to just about anything edible (and not so edible). So, I’m planning on sharing bits and pieces from various artists and designers that delight me, and first up I want to feature a person who has now become very close to my heart, Ms Emma-Kate Codrington of Emma-Kate Creative, the designer of my Pockets of Peace blog banner.

Hailing from Adelaide and now based in London as a freelance designer, I first virtually met Emma via her website. Landing on her site, my heart zinged with glee at her effervescent, gleeful and stunningly smile-inducing art. Immediately drawn to her, I dropped her a line to see if there was any way she was able to do this work for me, and within my budget. I am so thankful that it was a big happy yes, because Emma is an absolute delight to work with.

How can she not be? Her life manifesto is: Live He(art)fully. Beautiful!

The whole design process was fun and effortless on my part. Emma nailed my sketchy brief right from the get go. It’s so amazing to throw out words like ‘happy’ ‘peaceful’ ‘calm’ ‘soft’, plus a few key theme colours and have them boomerang back to you in a design form that embodies exactly what you wanted it to feel like when you look at it. Intuitively and accurately designing feelings, with flair? Now there’s a talent. After a couple of little tweaks back and forth, we had ourselves the beautiful PoP banner you see above, and I could not be more happy with the result.

The energy Emma exudes (and note, we haven’t me in person so I’m sure she’s even more of a lovely lady in REAL LIFE) is magnificent and I’m so grateful to have made this connection. During a time when I’m learning as I go and almost blindly feeling my way in to the blogosphere, Emma made the whole process super easy and fun, with her kindness and beautiful energy.

Take a look through her site and I defy you not to be delighted by her designs. I have my eye on her gorgeous individual illustrations and gift tags, available for purchase online. Most of Emma’s designs (including my PoP blog banner), incorporate her beautiful handwriting. Isn’t it exquisite?

If you’re looking for someone to spruce up and beautify your brand, blog, website, or ebook – I cannot recommend Emma highly enough. And if you’re in the market for wedding invitation designs, this lady has the talent in spades to create something wonderful for you.

Do yourself a favour and head on over to her site and check this lady out, I’m sure you’ll find something that makes your heart sing!
